Situated to the northeast of the Masai Mara National Reserve in the Koiyaki Lemek Wildlife conservancy, the David Livingstone Safari Resort can be found on a broad bend of the Mara River, home to many hippos. The lodge is set amidst 40 acres of tropical gardens and has a swimming pool where guests can relax between game drives. The bar enjoys views across the river where hippos and crocodiles wallow each day, so even when guests are not out on a game drive the local wildlife is still nearby! The restaurant serves a good selection of food and vegetarians are particularly well catered for. Rooms have basic furnishings and each one benefits from a verandah facing the Mara River. The lodge enjoys a relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff and in a superb setting.

The Royal Mara Safari Lodge is situated directly on the wildebeest "Great Migration" route, near the two world famous wildebeest migration Mara River crossing points and near Leopard Gorge, all made internationally known by the BBC's Big Cat Diary television program. Our tented lodge and camp is located on the popular Hippo Bend Lagoon of the Mara River, amongst several elephant, buffalo and giraffe herds, and with close proximity to several lion prides, including the "Maternity", Musiara Marsh, "Aitong", and Ridge prides. Given the position of our camp in the richest game section of the Masai Mara, the Western Masai Mara, our camp guests are in the best location to most readily discover the Big Five mammals. Thousands of wildlife documentaries and countless millions of photographs stand testament to this timeless corner of the world.

Perched on the saddle of a hill, the Mara Serena Safari Lodge has one of the most spectacular views imaginable across the vast plains, forests and rivers that make up the Masai Mara – one of the world’s richest wildlife sanctuaries. It is on this very terrain that the annual migration takes place when millions of zebra, wildebeest and gazelle cross the plains below, on their way to the rich new grasses of the Serengeti.
